About the Writizzy Blog

Welcome to our corner of the internet. This blog is where we share the "behind the scenes" of building a modern, independent blogging platform, our thoughts on the future of writing, and our journey as a bootstrapped duo.

Why this blog?

We didn't start this blog just to announce new features. We started it because we believe the web needs more authentic, human-led conversations. In an era of AI-generated noise and proprietary social networks, we want to document how we’re building a different kind of tool: one that respects your privacy, gives you total ownership of your content, and doesn't tax your success.

What we write about

  • Product Updates: New features, but explained with the "why" behind them.
  • The Indie Journey: The reality of building a SaaS without VC funding (the wins, the fails, and the technical choices). (to be honest, a lot of this is also on our personal blogs, see below)
  • The Future of Content: Reflections on AI, digital sovereignty, and how to build trust with an audience in 2026.
  • Platform Ethics: Why we choose things like 0% commission, no tracking, and local pricing (PPP).

The Team

Writizzy is a two-person team. No investors, no board meetings—just two builders who love the written word.

Hugo Lassiège

Co-founder & Developer A veteran of the web, Hugo has been blogging since 2001. After co-founding Malt, he returned to his roots to build tools that prioritize simplicity and dev-friendly independence. He handles the engine under the hood.

Thomas Sanlis

Co-founder & Designer The creator of Uneed, Thomas is obsessed with user experience. He believes a writing tool should be as sharp and invisible as a professional pen. He ensures that Writizzy remains a joy to use, every single day.

Our Manifesto

We don't just build features; we follow a set of core beliefs:

  1. Trust is the new currency.
  2. You own your content (No Lock-in).
  3. Human writing is irreplaceable.
  4. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

Join the journey

We’re building Writizzy in public. Whether you’re a long-time blogger or just starting your first site, we hope our stories help you find your own voice.

However, most of our deep dives, technical challenges, and personal "behind the scenes" stories as indie makers are shared on our own personal blogs. You should follow us there too:
